How to create a dental treatment plan PDF

A dental treatment plan PDF brings selected teeth, treatment items, visit order and a price proposal into one document. With a free Planora account, you can create a plan, choose a language and design, and export a PDF.

1. Set up your own price catalogue

In Pricing, review the treatment items and prices you use. Set each pricing unit to tooth, jaw or procedure. A price per jaw should not be multiplied as though it were a price per tooth.

Use your own currency and price list. Build the proposal around the dentist’s treatment plan and your current prices rather than copying clinical recommendations or prices from an example document.

2. Select teeth and organise visits

In New Plan, select the relevant teeth on the odontogram and add treatment items. If the plan requires multiple visits, assign each item to its visit. The sequence should be understandable in both the plan and the patient proposal.

3. Review amounts and choose a language

Before opening the preview, review the selected teeth, quantities, unit prices, discounts and total. Per-tooth items use the number of selected teeth; jaw and procedure items follow their catalogue pricing unit. A wrong catalogue unit can affect the total.

Choose the proposal language that you want to present. Planora offers 11 language options. Review any text you added yourself and check clinical terminology in the chosen language.

4. Choose a design and export your PDF

In PDF Design, start with the clean design without a logo or add your own branding, colours and text. If you do not have a logo, there is no need to use another clinic’s branding.

Open the plan preview and export the PDF. Depending on the device, the workflow uses a file download or the browser’s print / save as PDF option. Open the final file to check layout, language and prices before sharing it through your own communication channel.

A final checklist before sharing

  • Is this the correct plan for the intended patient or client?
  • Are tooth numbers, treatment items and visit order correct?
  • Are currency, quantities, discounts and totals consistent?
  • Do the contact details and custom text belong to your practice?
  • Are all PDF pages complete and readable?
